How do philosophical inquiries contrast from logical or real issues? â⬠Philosophy spends significant time in questions that can't be addressed deductively, basically on the grounds that there are not components of the inquiry that can be estimated or tried observationally. Reasoning inquiries things and the appropriate responses are tried to be increasingly obstinate and dependent on specific perspectives. Reasoning spotlights on questions like ââ¬Å"how accomplishes this work. â⬠A philosophical inquiry that is valuable is whatever has to do with life, passing, or the universe. Philosophical inquiries don't have distinct answers, and they don't require estimations. For example, an inquiry could peruse, ââ¬Å"What makes an extraordinary father? â⬠One individual may address the inquiry saying, characteristics that make an incredible father would remember investing one for one energy with the youngster, continually going to class capacities and occasions, and continually setting aside a few minutes for the kids. While this answer could be valid for that individual another individual could respond to the inquiry saying, an extraordinary father is one who gives all necessities to the family through monetary dependability, and activities that demonstrate he wants to think about it. Both of these answers can have the capacity of being right in light of the fact that the inquiry depends on closely-held convictions and there is no distinct method to characterize this. The science approach endeavors to address all the inquiries that it can exactly, yet this is in some cases impractical. The explanation a portion of the occasions it is beyond the realm of imagination is on the grounds that the inquiries increment after some time and with the advances in innovation. As innovation extends the more inquiries that it ascends to science and the more inquiries that are left without a logical answer. The particular element of science is to gauge and gauge everything. Verifiable is proof in themselves and are along these lines set up. Reasoning and science share much for all intents and purpose. Huge numbers of the best thinkers were additionally researchers, or had the quality to be sorted as one in their timespan. Scholars approach questions comparably to the manner in which researchers do with their basic reasoning. Researchers figure hypotheses and afterward test them against what they can watch or reason. Logical inquiries suggests that an individual is asking about his general surroundings or her and anticipating exact answers. A logical inquiry has an autonomous variable and a needy variable in it. A verifiable inquiry is an inquiry regarding a reality, ââ¬Å"where did this occasion occur? â⬠is authentic in light of the fact that it is requesting realities. Be that as it may, a logical or real issue are ones that have the capacity to be replied through confirmation which will deliver a few kinds of unmistakable answers that are quantifiable and solid evidence. A case of this sort of inquiry would incorporate, ââ¬Å"how tall is sally? â⬠The appropriate response that an individual thinks of will be precise on the grounds that the person takes the logical estimations to respond to the inquiry to dispense with hypotheses. Notwithstanding, theories could happen while noting how tall Sally is on the grounds that one could state well is that Sallyââ¬â¢s precise stature, since when an individual initially stirs they are taller than they are at night. At the point when an individual initially stir their body has had the opportunity to unwind and loosen up for the night rest, and if estimations were taken during the day or around evening time the body has not kept up the capacity to loosen up making the individual be shorter. By and by the route around this is measure Sally multiple times once toward the beginning of the day, the center of the evening, lastly at night. 2. How did the ways to deal with philosophical request progress from the Pre-Socratics to Socrates, Plato, lastly to Aristotle? How do these changing methodologies reflect social impacts that influenced the rationalists of antiquated Greece? â⬠The philosophical request process during the pre-Socrates time depended fundamentally on power which solicits what the nature from being is. The Socrates time started to address perspectives that started posing and noting inquiries to invigorate an individualsââ¬â¢ basic deduction and thus enlightening thoughts, this started to shape a discussion and request between individualsââ¬â¢ restricting this view. The persuasive strategy is a procedure that the Socrates started and includes oppositional conversations. This strategy includes oppositional conversations that guard one perspective against another perspective. One individual may lead others to get their perspective thus fortifying the inquirerââ¬â¢s see point. Plato started to challenge the mystery argumentative technique for instruction after looking at it, ââ¬Å"if one knows nothing, at that point by what means will one come to perceive information when the person experiences it? â⬠The Socrates of Plato reached an alternate resolution. The Socrates started to utilize a slave kid and show through geometry exercises that each individual secures even the littlest measure of information, and the information fills in as a window into the individualââ¬â¢s interminable and omniscient soul. By speaking with the slave the educator could challenge the studentââ¬â¢s bogus conclusions until he went to a genuine feeling that withstood severities of basic assessment. Despite the fact that the individualââ¬â¢s soul is the distribution center of the information every individual must figure out how to get to the information and review it. Plato started to diminish from the Sophists by Plato removed himself further from Sophists by isolating information from feelings. The logical strategy came around after the presentation from Aristotle. The logical strategy is the turn of events and clarification of rules for logical examination and thinking that isn't obvious. The logical strategy is a hotly debated issue for some serious and incessant discussions all through the scienceââ¬â¢s history. A significant number of the common logicians and researchers contend for the essential of a solitary methodology that will set up logical information. Numerous discussions that encompass the logical strategy is fixated on realism. Induction is the principle part of logical convention as indicated by Aristotle. Aristotle felt that individual can pick up the information on well known fact through specific things, for example, enlistment. In certain estimates Aristotle unites dynamic idea with perceptions. Aristotelian science isn't observational in structure, and numerous people regularly botch this suggestion. Aristotle denies that people create information through acceptance and has the capacity to be viewed as logical information. The fundamental starter to logical business enquiry is enlistment, this gives the primer grounds to logical shows. The principle occupation of logicians was to inspect and find the certainties causes and to exhibit general facts. Despite the fact that acceptance was good for finding universals by rearrangements, it did not have the capacity to effectively recognize the causes. Aristotle looked for in the wake of recognizing the causes and started utilizing deductive thinking as arguments. Utilizing the arguments, researchers had the capacity of construing new widespread certainties from ones that have recently been built up by different savants. Actually after finding out about these various logicians. I think the distinctive request forms engaged every logician to thoroughly consider of the domain of typicality and not with the exception of the standard which empowered Greece and considerably different societies to address questions and thus acquire information. 3. How are philosophical assessments defended? â⬠Epistemology contains the hypothesis of legitimization and battles to nderstand defenses of proposition and convictions. Philosophical conclusions are legitimized in view of epistemology, which is related to ways of thinking including support, convictions, and facts. Epistemology manages the methods for the creation of information. As indicated by Plato, legitimization is the last segment of information and without it people just have a genuine assessment. Conviction is a perspective on which an individual can frequently whimsical and at risk to change. Legitimization is the real defense of genuine assessments, the truth is what grounds it (Baker, 2013). Support based hypotheses of information are classified into two subsections, irrationalism and panrationalism. Irrationalism is something that attracts to silly standards and specialists, including an individualââ¬â¢s emotions. Panrationalism is discerning rules and standards including thinking and perception. I accept that philosophical sentiments are advocated in different manners. Philosophical suppositions not really legitimized however are guided by close to home encounters and strict convictions. At the point when convictions are defended there is consistently a justifier or something that legitimizes the conviction. Various things can be justifiers for instance the accompanying three things are recommended, the first is exclusively convictions, convictions that are along with other mindful mental states, lastly convictions, discerning mental states, and different real factors about people and their encompassing and nature, which people could conceivably have the entrance to. Similarly as with each philosophical thoughts there is analysis following the hypothesis of legitimization. Held by basic pragmatists W. W.à Bartley, David Miller, and Karl Popper, non-justificational analysis is the significant resistance that is against this hypothesis. Analysis to the justificationism is attempting to demonstrate that the cases do not have the capacity to be diminished to the impact or standards that it impacts offers to, it expresses that support is an essential case and the case itself is auxiliary. Nonjustificational analysis endeavors to assault the cases themselves. The first being guided by close to home experience is on the grounds that people will in general partner their way of thinking based on encounters they have experienced. Marketers must have a thorough understanding of how consumers think, feel, and act and offer clear value to each and every target consumer. Successful marketing requires that companies fully connect with their customers. Adopting a holistic marketing orientation means understanding customers-gaining a 360-degree view of both their daily lives and the changes that occur during their lifetimes so the right products are always marketed to the right customers in the right way. Marketing and environmental stimuli enter the consumers consciousness, and a set of psychological processes combine with certain consumer characteristics to result in decision processes and purchase decisions. The marketers task is to understand what happens in the consumers consciousness between the arrival of the outside marketing stimuli and the ultimate purchase decisions. What influences Consumer behavior? Consumer behavior is the study of how individuals, groups and organizations select, buy, use and dispose of goods, services, idea or experiences to satisfy their needs and wants. A Consumers buying behavior is influenced by cultural, social, and personal factors. Cultural factors Culture is the fundamental determinant of a personââ¬â¢s wants amp; behavior. Each culture consists of smaller subcultures that provide more specific identification and socialization for their members. Subcultures include nationalities, religions, racial groups and geographic regions. Virtually all human societies exhibit social stratification, most often in the form of social classes, relatively homogeneous and enduring divisions in a society, hierarchically ordered and with members who share similar values, interest and behavior. Social Classes Upper uppers Upper uppers Lower uppers Lower uppers Upper middles Upper middles Middle Middle Working Working Upper lowers Upper lowers Lower lowers Lower lowers Social factors Such as Reference groups, Family and Social roles and statuses affect our buying behavior. Reference groups A personââ¬â¢s references groups are all the groups that have a direct or indirect influence on their behavior * Membership groups * Primary groups * Secondary groups * Aspirational groups * Dissociative groups Groups having a direct influence are called membership groups, some of these are Primary groups with whom the person interacts continuously and informally such as family, friends, neighbors and coworkers. People also belong to Secondary groups such as religious, professional and trade-union, which tend to be more formal and require less continuous interaction. People re also influenced by groups to which they donââ¬â¢t belong. Aspirational groups are those a person hops to join; Dissociative groups are those values or behavior an individual rejects. Marketers must determine how to reach and influence the groupââ¬â¢s opinion leaders opinion leaders are often highly confident, socially active. Family There are two families in the buyerââ¬â¢s life: * Family of orienta tion consists of parents and siblings * Family of procreation the personââ¬â¢s spouse and children Rules and status Role consists of the activities a person is expected, each role in turn connotes a status Personal factors Personal characteristic that influence a buyerââ¬â¢s decision include * Age and stage Our taste of food, clothes and recreation is related to our age. Marketers should consider critical life events or transitions like marriage. * Occupation and Economic Circumstances Marketers try to identify the Occupational groups that have above-average interest in their product and services and even tailor product for certain Occupational groups. Both product and brand choices are affected by economic circumstance: 1. Spendable income (level, stability and time pattern) 2. Savings and assets (percentage that is liquid) 3. Debts 4. Borrowing power 5. Attitudes toward spending and saving * Personality and self-concept Personality set of distinguishing human psychological traits that lead to relatively consistent and enduring response to environmental stimuli (buying behavior). Like self-confidence, dominance, autonomy, deference, sociability, defensiveness and adaptability. Brand personality is a specific mix of human traits that we can attribute to a particular brand. 1. Sincerity 2. Excitement 3. Competence 4. Sophistication 5. Ruggedness * Life style and values Life style is a personââ¬â¢s pattern of living in the world as expressed in activities, interests and opinions. The ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢ whole person ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢ interacting with his/her environment. Life styles are shaped partly by whether consumers are money constrained (lower-cost product) or time constrained (multi-tasking). Consumer decisions are also influenced by core value the belief systems that underlie attitudes and behavior. Core values go much deeper than attitudes and behavior, peopleââ¬â¢s choices and desires over the long term. Key psychological processes Four key psychological process: Motivation, Perception, Learning, and Memory Motivation We all have many needs at any given time. Needs are: 1. Biogenic arise from physiological states of tension such as hunger. 2. Psychogenic arise from psychological states of tension such as the need of recognition. Three of the best-known theories of human motivation: Sigmund Freud, Abraham Maslow, and Frederick Herzberg. * Freudââ¬â¢s Theory Behavior is guided by subconscious motivations * Maslowââ¬â¢s Theory Behavior is driven by lowest, unmet need Fig 2. 1 Fig 2. 1 Maslows Hierarchy of Needs Maslows Hierarchy of Needs * Herzbergââ¬â¢s Theory Behavior is guided by motivating and hygiene factors. It has two implications: 1. Sellers should do their best to avoid dissatisfiers. 2. The seller should identify the major satisfiers or motivators of purchase in the market and then supply them. Perception Perception is the process by which we select, organize and interpret information inputs to create a meaningful picture of the world. Perceptions are more important than reality because perceptions affect consumerââ¬â¢s actual behavior. People emerge with different perceptions of the same object because of three perceptual processes: * Selective attention Selective attention means that marketers must work hard to attract consumerââ¬â¢s notice * People are more likely to notice stimuli that relate to a current need * People are more likely to notice stimuli they anticipate * People are more likely to notice stimuli whose deviations are large in relationship to the normal size of the stimuli * Selective distortion Is the tendency to interpret information in a way that fits our preconceptions. Selective distortion can work to the advantages of marketers with strong brands when consumers distort neutral or ambiguous brand information to make it more positive. Selective retention We are likely to remember good points about a product we like and forget good points about competing products. It explains why marketers need to use repetition. * Subliminal perception Learning ((When we act we learn)) Learning induces changes in our behavior arising from experience. Learning theorists believe learning is produced through the interplay of drive s, stimuli, cues, responses amp; reinforcement. Drive is a strong internal stimulus impelling action. Cues are minor stimuli that determine when, where amp; how a person response. Discrimination means we have learned to recognize differences in sets of similar stimuli amp; can adjust our responses accordingly. Learning theory teaches marketers that they can build demand for a product by associating it with strong drives, using motivating cues amp; providing positive reinforcement. Hedonic bias occurs when people have a general tendency to attribute success to themselves amp; failure to external causes. Emotion Consumer response is not all cognitive amp; rational; much maybe emotional amp; invoke different kinds of feelings. A brand or product may make a consumer feel proud, excited, or confident. An ad may create feeling of amusement, disgust, or wonder. Memory * Short term memory (STM) a temporary amp; limited repository of information. * Long term memory (LTM) a more permanent, essentially unlimited repository. All the information amp; experiences we encounter as we go through life can end up in our long-term memory. Associative network memory model views LTM as a set of nodes amp; links. Nodes are stored information connected by links that vary in strength. A spreading process from node to node determine how much we retrieve amp; what information we can actually recall in any given situation. In this model, we can think of consumer brand knowledge as a node in memory with a variety of linked associations. The strength of these associations will be important determinant of the info we can recall about the brand. Brand association consist of all brand-related thoughts , feelings , perceptions , images, experiences , beliefs , attitudes amp; so on that become linked to the brand node. State farm mental map State farm mental map Fig 2. 2 Fig 2. 2 Memory process Memory is a very constructive process, because we donââ¬â¢t remember info amp; events completely amp; accurately. Memory encoding describes how amp; where info gets in the memory. The strength of the resulting association depends on how much we process the info at encoding amp; in what way. Memory retrieval is the way information gets out of memory. 1. The presence of other product info in memory can produce interference effects amp; cause us to either overlook or confuse new data. 2. The time between exposure to info amp; encoding has been shown generally to produce only gradual decay. 3. Info may be available in memory but not be accessible for recall without the proper retrieval cues or reminders. The buying decision process The five stage model of buying process: 1. Problem recognition 2. Information search 3. Evaluation of alternatives 4. Purchase decision 5. Post purchase behavior 1. Problem recognition The buying process starts when the buyer recognizes a problem or need triggered by internal or external stimuli. Marketers need to identify the circumstances that trigger a particular need by gathering information from a number of consumers. 2. Information search Information sources * Personal: family, friendsâ⬠¦etc. * Commercial: ads, web sites â⬠¦etc. * Public: mass media â⬠¦. etc. Experiential: handling, examiningâ⬠¦etc. Search dynamic by gathering information, the consumer learns about competing brands amp; their features. Successive Sets in Decision Making: 3. Evaluation of alternatives * Some basic concepts will help us understand consumer evaluation process: First, the consumer is trying to satisfy a need. Second, the consumer is looking for a certain benefits from the product solution. Third, the consumer sees each product as a bundle of attributes with varying abilities to deliver the benefits. Belief is a descriptive thought that a person holds about something. Attitudes a personââ¬â¢s enduring favorable or unfavorable evaluations, emotional feelings, amp; action tendencies toward some object or ideas. Attitudes put us into a frame of mind: liking or disliking an object, moving toward or away from it. Expectancy-value model The consumer arrives at attitudes toward various brands through an attribute evaluation procedure, developing a set of beliefs about where each brand stands on each attribute. The expectancy-value model of attitude formation posits that consumers evaluate products amp; services by combining their brand beliefs according to importance. . Purchase decision In executing a purchase intention the consumer may make up to 5 sub decisions: Brand, Dealer, Quantity, Timing, and payment method. It is a Step between Alternative Evaluation and Purchase. Non-Compensatory Models of Choice: Conjunctive heuristic: the consumer set a min acceptable cutoff level for each attribute amp; chooses the first alternative that meets the min st andard for all attribute. Lexicographic heuristic: the consumer chooses the best brand on the basis of its perceived most important attribute. Elimination-by-aspects heuristic: the consumer compare brands on an attribute selected probabistically amp; eliminates brands that donââ¬â¢t meet min acceptable cutoffs. Intervening factors Steps purchase intention between and Purchas: Steps between Alternative Evaluation and Purchase Steps between Alternative Evaluation and Purchase Fig 3. 1 Fig 3. 1 Attitudes of others Depends on 2 things: 1. The intensity of the other personââ¬â¢s negative attitude toward our preferred alternative. 2. Our motivation to comply with the other personââ¬â¢s wishes. Unanticipated situational factors may erupt to change the purchase intention (Perceived Risk): 1. Functional risk: the product doesnââ¬â¢t perform to expectations. 2. Physical risk: the product poses a threat to physical well-being or health of the user or others 3. Financial risk: the product isnââ¬â¢t worth the price paid. 4. Social risk: the product results in embarrassment in front of others. 5. Psychological risk: the product affects the mental well-being of the other user. 6. Time risk: the failure of the product results in an opportunity cost of finding another satisfactory product. 5. Post purchase behavior Marketer must monitor post purchase satisfaction, actions, uses amp; disposal. Post purchase satisfaction Satisfaction is a function of closeness between expectations amp; the productââ¬â¢s perceived performance. If performance falls of expectations the consumer is disappointed; if it meets expectations the consumer is satisfied; if it exceeds expectations, the consumer is delighted. Post purchase actions Satisfied consumer is more likely to purchase the product again amp; will also tend to say good things about the brand to others. Dissatisfied consumer may abandon or return the product. Private actions include deciding to stop buying the product (exit option) or warning friends (voice option). Post purchase uses amp; disposal Marketers should also monitor how buyers use amp; dispose of the product. Fig 3. 2 Fig 3. 2 How buyers use amp; dispose of the product How buyers use amp; dispose of the product Moderating effects on consumer decision making The manner or path by which a consumer moves through the decision-making stages depends on several factors including the level of involvement amp; extent of variety seeking. * Low-Involvement Decision Making Petty amp; cacippoââ¬â¢s elaboration an influential model of attitude formation amp; change, describe how consumers make evaluation in both low amp; high involvement circumstances. Central route in which attitude or change stimulates much thought amp; is based on consumerââ¬â¢s diligent, rational consideration of the most important product information. Peripheral route in which attitude formation or change provokes much less thought amp; results from the consumers association of a brand with either positive or negative peripheral cues. Marketers use 4 techniques to try to covert low involvement product into one of higher involvement: 1. They can link the product to an engaging issue. 2. They can link the product to a personal situation. 3. They might design advertising to trigger strong emotions related to personal values. 4. They might add an important feature. * Variety-seeking buying behavior Here consumers often do a lot of brand switching. Brand switching occurs for the sake of variety rather than dissatisfaction. The market leader will try to encourage habitual buying behavior by dominating the self-space with a variety of related but different product versions, avoiding out-of-stock conditions, amp; sponsoring frequent reminder advertising. Behavioral decision theory amp; behavioral economics Behavioral decision theory (BDT) has identified many situations in which consumers make seemingly irrational choices. 1. Decision heuristics. 2. Framing. 3. Mental accounting. * Decision heuristics 1. Availability heuristic consumers base their predictions on the quickness amp; ease with which a particular example of an outcomes comes to mind. 2. Representative heuristic consumers base their predictions on how representative or similar the outcomes are to other examples. The spark of the Great War was the assassination of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, and his wife by a Serbian nationalist on the morning of June 28, 1914, while traveling in a motorcade through Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Archduke was chosen as a target because Serbians feared that after his ascension to the throne, he would continue the persecution of Serbs living within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Serbian terrorist organization, the Black Hand, had trained a small group of teenage operatives to infiltrate Bosnia and carry out the assassination of the Archduke. It is unclear how officially active the Serbian government was in the plot. However, it was uncovered years later that the leader of the Black Hand was also the head of Serbian military intelligence. In order to understand the complexity of the causes of the war, it is very helpful to know what was the opinion of the contemporaries about the causes of the Great War. In the reprint of the article "What Started the War", from August 17, 1915 issue of The Clock magazine published on the Internet the author writes: "It is thought that this war that is been ongoing for over a year, began with the assassination of the Archduke Francis Ferdinand. However, many other reasons led to this war, some occurring as far back the late 1800's. Nationalism, militarism, imperialism, and the system of alliances were four main factors that pressed the great powers towards this explosive war." According to the article above, the author stresses that the nationalism was one of the primary causes of the war. In the ninetieth and twentieth centuries, especially after the French Revolution nationalism was becoming a powerful force in Europe so people that had the same culture, language wanted their own country. And that was the problem for the government of Austria-Hungary that did not want to lose their power and control. The Slavs in the southern part of the empire were their main concern since they wanted to join up to Serbia. Militarism is the second cause according to the article above, which comes after the nationalism. To understand what the author means by militarism one should be familiar with the situation of the world in the beginning of the century, which was the result of both industrial and democratic revolutions. Britain at that time was the largest empire in the world, and it also had the largest navy. The navy was so big and strong because the Britons needed to protect their empire and maintain the sea routes between the different colonies. The Kaiser William II of Germany hated and envied Britain for having a stronger navy than his. He increased the German navy and built many warships. Britain responded with building more ships and increasing its navy too. This started a race for building more and better warships and it created tension and competition between those two countries. Imperialism and the system of alliances are the last two major causes of the War. There was a quarrel between France and Germany about controlling the colonies, and especially Morocco, which leads to a greater conflict, the Great War. Europe at that time was divided into two rival alliance systems: Triple Entente that included Great Britain, France, and Russia and the Triple Alliance, which included the Central Powers of Austria-Hungary, Germany, and eventually the Ottoman Turkish Empire. Austria-Hungary must take a large proportion of any blame for the outbreak of war in 1914. The reason for Germany's part in the causes involves Germany's "blank Check" policy. Before sending its ultimatum to Serbia, Austria needed to be sure of the support of its ally, Germany. Such support was forthcoming in the form of a telegram to the Emperor Franz Joseph on 6 July 1914. The telegram has become known to history as the "Blank Check". In order to balance the power, France and Russia signed an alliance. Russia saw itself as the 'protector of Slavs' in the war, and immediately mobilized. When the war began, the German decision that if they were going to have to fight Russia and France, they would strike at France first according to its Schlieffen Plan, and then turn West to Russia. Germans believed that Russia at the time was unprepared for war, and that it will take a long time for Russia to mobilize its army. They have opened their virtual value chain to other companies, and are outsourcing their non-principal services, and ultimately have specialized their key tasks that are nursing, restaurant services, medical and physiotherapeutic. And hence they have to organize various units and few of them are units of the firm and some units are of other companies. Sispes directs almost all of the data flow between administrative, sanitary, entertainment and socio-assistance sections. It is designed by an Enterprise Knowledge Portal which allows the exceptional access point to collective information. Data can only be acquired through authentic procedure. It also allows workers to manage group policies, share documents, convey messages and start forums. The area of landfill was started off with a very small area; in 1963 it occupied simply 11.4 acres of the land; in only two years' time it was spread over 16 acres. In 1970 and finally in 1974 it covered 39.5 acres and 61.7 acres respectively. It was discovered by Solid Waste Administration (SWA) that during this later period of it's functioning that many chemicals were dumped. The report also indicated deficiencies in sanitary landfill operating procedures, improperly covered area and lack of control in preventing windblown paper. It all affected the Holly Run. Another survey conducted by SWA in the year 1977 showed that GEMS landfill did not meet the approved design specifications. The dispute broke between the two parties and later administrative order to end the operations was passed on September 1, 1977; it remained operative until November 1980. The coastal plain where the landfill is located is underlain by Pleistocene, tertiary and cretaceous age sediments. The geological formations include: the Bridgeton formation, the Cohansey formation, the Kirkwood formation, the Manasquan, the Naveskine, the Mount Laurel and Wenonah formation. Sources of contamination Organic solvents and several other industrial wastes and output have contaminated the surrounding area, ground water, surface water and air. Arsenic, barium and lead are the major elements found and pesticides include DDE, DDD, and DDT. It is shameful to see that these water sources were the drinking wells for the neighborhood (NUS Corporation, 1986). She had a passion for young minds. She believed that children educate themselves. Montessori became a physician in 1896, attending the University of Rome psychiatric clinic. During her tenure, Dr. Montessori developed an enthusiasm for the study of children with special needs; where she also spoke on their behalf. Twenty-six years later, Maria relocated to San Lorenzo, Rome to study children without disabilities. There she observed fifty children which resulted in success. This success was recognized and spread all over, attracting travelers from all over to this remarkable case study. An in-depth explanation of what a Montessori truly is, Stephenson (2011) clearly states: A Montessori can be defined as a revolutionary method of observing and supporting the natural development of children. Montessori educational practice helps children develop creativity, problem solving,à critical thinking and time-management skills to contribute to society and the environment, and to become fulfilled persons in their particular time and place on Earth. The basis of Montessori practice in the classroom is mixed age group (3 ages- 6 ages in one class), individual choice of research and work, and interrupted concentration. Group lesson are seldom found in a Montessori classroom, but learning abounds. Since Montessoriââ¬â¢s death, educators all over continue to implement and notice this method has worked all over the world with all kinds of children (wealthy, poor, gifted, normal, learning disabled, etc.) and environments (from slums, to elegant schools, etc. ). Maria agreed that when physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs are met, children glow with excitement and a drive to play and work with enthusiasm, to learn, and to create. In conjunction, children exude a desire to teach, help and care for others and for their environment (Stephenson, 2011). During her lectures and travels, Maria Montessori was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition to the explanation of a Montessori, the following is the Montessori Method. This method meticulously exemplifies how Montessori educators implement the method in various programs across the country. There are five basic principle associated with the Montessori Method. They are: Respect for the child, The Absorbent child, Sensitive periods, The Prepared environment and Auto-education. Respect for the children occurs when educators assist children with new projects, allowing them to learn for themselves. Giving the child room to explore their boundaries flourishes abilities for positive self- esteem (Morrison, 2009). Montessori also believed having respect for the child is a key element. She said (Morrison, 2009), As a rule, however we do not respect children. We try to force them to follow us without regard to their special needs. We are overwhelming with them, and above all, rude; and then we expect them to be submissive and well-behaved, knowing all the time how strong is their instinct of imitation and how touching their faith in and admiration of us. They will imitate us in any case. Let us treat them, therefore, with all the kindness which we would wish to help to develop in them. When it comes to a childââ¬â¢s mind; it can be described as a sponge. Their young minds continuously ââ¬Å"absorbâ⬠information. Unintentionally, children cannot help but learn. In their own environments and in shared environments. The Absorbent mind refers to the idea that the minds of young children are receptive to and capable learning (Morrison, 2009). From birth to age six, these are the most important years of the absorbent mind. Shortridge (2003), compiled an essay about the absorbent mind in which Montessori states that the child learns by unconsciously taking in everything around him and actually constructs himself. Using his senses, he incarnates, or creates himself by absorbing his environment through his very act of living. Morrison (2009) adds, ââ¬Å"What they learn depends greatly on their teachers, experiences, and environmentsâ⬠(Ch. 9). In the sensitive periods; learning is most likely to occur (Morrison, 2009). In our text (2009), Montessori recalls a sensitive period: A sensitive period refers to a special sensibility which a creature acquires in its infantile state, while it is still in a process of evolution. It is a transient disposition and limited to the acquisition of a particular trait. Once this trait or characteristic has been acquired, the special sensibility disappears. It is imperative for an educator to observe and ascertain sensitivity periods and sustain the proper environment. Many theorists believe this stage is considered the critical period. The critical period and the sensitive period contain a sensitive difference. The critical period mildly describes a child not receiving the ââ¬Å"rightâ⬠or enough stimuli during the window; they will be stagnant in learning in the future (Oswalt, 2008). However, theorists who believe in the sensitive period noted it would post difficulty for the childcare giver to attain what was not learned during the learning window of opportunity, still there is room for the child to learn at a later time (Oswalt, 2008). In a prepared environment it is believed children learn best. In an environment where children can do things for themselves; children are at liberty to explore materials of their own choosing. Within these prepared environments, are six principles: Freedom, Structure and Order, Beauty, Nature and Reality, Social environment and Intellectual environment (Irinyi, 2009). Freedom environment includes freedom of movement, the child must experience freedom of exploration. All of these freedom movements lead to a greater freedom (Irinyi, 2009). Structure and order in the classroom mirrors the sense of structure and order in the universe (Irinyi, 2009). A beautiful environment should suggest harmony and should invite the worker to work. Nature and reality strongly influenced Maria Montessori and believed children should actively interact with nature. Social environment promotes the freedom of children socially interacting with one another and also develop a sense of compassion and empathy for others (Irinyi, 2009). Briefly, auto-education is last principal of the Montessori Method. The prepared environment also stimulates auto-education which is the idea that children teach themselves through appropriate materials and activities (Morrison, 2009). Children who decide to ââ¬Å"workâ⬠in the ââ¬Å"kitchenâ⬠are able to role play as chefs and are able to make themselves and their peers something to eat. In the Early Childhood Education field, Montessoriââ¬â¢s are not the only education program developed to focus on childrenââ¬â¢s developments. The High- Scope theory is based on Piaget, constructivism, Dewey and Vygotsky (Morrison, 2009). Children help establish curriculum. Experiences guide the programs of studies in promoting childrenââ¬â¢s active learning (Morrison, 2009). The Reggio Emilia approach founded by Loris Malaguzzi (1920-1994), a city in northern Italy, based on the philosophy and practice; that children are active of their own knowledge (Morrison, 2009). Curriculum is project oriented and learning is active. The Waldorf Education founded by Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) highlights the teaching of the whole child-head, hands, and heart (Morrison, 2009). Steiner strongly believed that education should be holistic. The study of myths, lores, and fairy tales promotes the imagination and multiculturalism (Morrison,2009). Combining all of the early childhood education programs, there is no one perfect curriculum. Today, there is a combination of all four education types being taught in school districts. Each approach is important and critical. Personally, I would agree that The Montessori Method best serves the needs because this approach allows children to grow and learn at their pace. They are not forced to retain information if the brain is not processing at the pace that is requested and required for children. Also, the environment plays a serious role in this learning and teaching process. If a child is in a stressed environment, the child is less likely to participate and socialize with his or her peers. When a child is in a peaceful or beautiful environment, the child is more inclined to interact with the world with a clear mind. Indeed, while there are multiple Early Childhood Education programs available, the Montessori Method was created with the focus of children learning from their environment (Morrison, 2009). Not to say that this particular method is paramount, but beneficial results have emerged from this program. In Head Start facilities, High- Scope, Reggio Emilia Approach, the Montessori Method and the Waldorf Education should be integrated in facilities today and for the future. References Irinyi, M. What is a sexual dysfunction? A sexual dysfunction is any condition that inhibits someone's ability to enjoy sex. Some common sexual dysfunctions are: hypoactive desire disorder (low sex drive), hyperactive sexual disorder (high sex drive), sexual aversion disorder, lack of lubrication (females), impotence (male erectile disorder), premature ejaculation, vaginismus (prolonged contractions of the vaginal wall that cause painful intercourse), or failure to orgasm during sex (8). In a study of happily married couples, 14% of men and 15% of women reported that they were either not very satisfied or not at all satisfied with their sex lives. In another study by Laumann in 1992, it was found that the prevalence of sexual dysfunction is 43% in women and 31% in men (10). Are these numbers surprising? What is causing this lack of sexual fulfillment? Did you ever wonder why sexual desire varies from person to person? Or why and how your sexual drive can change over time? Did you ever wonder what causes things to go wrong sexually - sexual dysfunctions? What is controlling YOUR sexual desire? Innervations of the organs of sexuality are mediated primarily through the autonomic nervous system (12). The autonomic nervous system is the part of the vertebrate nervous system that regulates involuntary action, as of the intestines, heart, and glands, and that is divided into the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system (1). Although there have been programs and initiatives started to eradicate this problem, illiteracy still plagues millions of Americans. Out of all ethnic groups, African Americans have a higher illiteracy rate. Within this project, the causes of illiteracy are revealed and viable solutions to this on-going problem will be discussed. Illiteracy Among African-Americans African-American adults do not have the ability or proper skills to read, write, or speak English correctly. African-Americans have the lowest level of literacy rates in the United States. The history of literacy among African- Americans depicts the levels of literacy today. Until the Civil War, it was illegal to teach Blacks to read and write. ââ¬Å"Compulsory ignoranceâ⬠as coined by writer Brent Staples relates to the reality that ââ¬Å"Blackâ⬠literacy was obstructed as a matter of law for more than a century. Until after the Civil War, it was a crime to teach ââ¬Å"Blacksâ⬠how to read and openly literate ââ¬Å"Blacksâ⬠were seen as destructive and even dangerous. â⬠The stereotype of African-American adults are considered to be part-time workers, unemployed, and non-educated illiterate people. These African-American adults are individuals who make our society incapable of succeeding because of living their life on drugs or being violent. Some African-Americans choose to follow the road of poverty in the wrong direction by being caught in armed robbery, abuse, and prison. According to the 2000 US Census of Population, 15% of African-American in the poverty level are below the 8th grade reading level. An illiteracy study which focused on African- American communities to research the job opportunities, proper education, and drug usage in the urban area stressed that lifestyles have a dramatic influence on academic levels. The urban community stresses the issues of abuse, pregnancy, drugs, and violence, but few want to help the illiterate. African Americans need to have power and motivation to educate themselves and children at home. African Americans need to focus on homework, study habits, reading comprehension skills, and written English skills. African Americans need to invest in themselves and children having the power and education to read. While the slave experiences of African Americans make experiences markedly different from other citizens, we must move forward and utilize the system. It is time to demand more from our public education systems and more from us as parents and communities. Illiteracy among African Americans was people considered middle and low class families. These are African Americans with money to invest properly, productive in education, and have low paying jobs. In the South illiteracy among African American people rate at ages ten and over from the percentage level of 76. 2%-10. 7. Illiteracy among African American makes rate at ages 20 to 64 from the percentage level of 50. 0% to 9. 6%. During the 1870 to 1979 illiteracy has been a problems throughout African American culture. The government was concern whether African Americans were capable of keeping up with modern functions in the society. The literacy rate for blacks rose from 38. 2 percent in1880 to 71. 9 percent in 1910, whereas the literacy rate for whites rose only 1.9 percentage points from its 1880 level of 93. 2 percent. Literacy among African Americans has improved statistically showing things have changed in the 20th century. Individuals were capable of receiving jobs in the Civil War period compared to the African Americans then. The characteristics of African Americans ages 55-64 were tested on three documents of illiteracy were prose, documents, and quantities skills. Each African Americans within this age range scored below average. African American with a high school diploma or GED only scored poorly on the quantities literacy test. African Americans with illiteracy have lower paying jobs like service or labor, craft, and service occupation. These African Americans with low income rates are also receiving help from the government. African American illiteracy is common because researchers feel; this ability is from cognitive and physical effects of age. Researchers feel African American are not expand to assessments of printed material written. African Americans proficiencies results showed thirty-eight percent of them scored high on there examine. The United States has specialized a program in the schools, recreation centers, and after school programs from literacy. African Americans with illiteracy receive basic skills courses to enhance their reading, writing, and English skills. The African American programs illiteracy that supports the group by designing fundamental speaking and educational classes. These classes will better prepare and motivate African American to get their GED and workforce training. African Americans have the most students of 76% or more enrolled in these classes for illiteracy. African Americans also have outreach programs for illiteracy throughout the region. African American regions are processing new strategies for people below average functioning under level number one literacy. There are state officials, business leaders, and human resources who promote assessment class to determine the adequate needs for African Americans needing more help with illiteracy. The African Americans who developmental skills are not processing the schools and recreation centers conduct remedial educational opportunities for those reading skills are below average. The government has conducted two National Assessment of Adult Literacy and The National Center for Educational Statistics. The federal government has provided funds to assist states in establishing and expanding basic education programs for individuals age 16 and over who have not completed high school. The type of services and providers funded under federal legislation has changed a number of times since it began nearly 40 years ago. Originally established under the Adult Education Act of 1966, the adult education program is currently governed by the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA), which is Title II of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, as amended (P. L. 105-220). WIA makes the adult education program part of a new ââ¬Å"one-stopâ⬠career center system that includes many federally funded employment and training programs. The government was trying to examine whether illiteracy is arbitrary or misleading to society. The government also was trying to develop a system where African -Americansââ¬â¢ English language skills through literacy would change tremendously. The regions are always stereotyping on whether the lower class of succeeding in the socioeconomic groups. African Americans are not able of reading books, newspapers and interact with their environment. African Americans are put down because their illiteracy habits are poor in average. Some African Americans illiteracy knowledge of phonics and vocabulary is on a elementary level. African American illiteracy is high in change because other ethnicities have a stronger and diverse chance of having a better job. African Americans are not pushed to get ahead because they are motivated to look to the future. African Americans are not successful because they do not have self-confidence or the proper attitudes to care about being illiterate. African Americans value the least concern for being illiterate. African Americans cultural identity is a problem for people with no social skills. African Americans have had to suffer by competing with other culture with illiteracy. African American culture of having a different sense of belief in religion affects people ways of being are very skeptical about advancing with education. Some researchers feel African Americans are failures to society. There are African Americans who prefer to be illiterate because of the mismatch languages advise throughout the country. African Americans and Hispanics are compared to each other because they are behind on the level of grade four. A quarter million of Africans Americans were treated for illiteracy. African Americans educational programs were taught to read (book, newspaper, and application) and write (proper grammatical papers). African Americans illiteracy rates went down five percent every year. Researchers receive notes of reading ability fail tremendously in directives, forms, education, and informed consent skills (Hunter & Harman). Their theories on African Americans were concern with adequate informational literacy. Hunter and Harman wanted to examine the autonomy of the informed consent of literacy. These researchers believe the rapid increase of literacy is caused by critical implication. Also, the researchers discovered literacy could be modified the health reasons. The National Adult Literacy programmed examines the process of comprehending newspaper articles, employment forms, and quantities skills. The NAL realizes the lowest of African American literacy skills will limit competing skills. The African Americans having two levels below average had disabilities and mental problems. Some had physical and disable needs to have full activity to think properly. Also, the NAL realized the older compared to middle age adults. Illiteracy and health explore different links between direct measures of learning. Researchers studies the process of education had influence the ability of illiteracy (Cumming, Smith, & Shrestha1994-2004). Illiteracy has access information and navigates in literate environments to process cognitive and linguistics process. Some illiterate African Americans access crucial information for health care without taking medication. Researchers feel different readability strategies measure out their health reasons. In conclusion the idea to try to change illiteracy for African Americans is very important. It is possible to recognize, focus, and understanding of learning. These studies are process to decrease the rate of African American knowledge of illiteracy. African Americans need to start early receiving the proper need or help. African Americans need to understand that having a deficiency is nothing to be ashamed of. African Americans to support their group by learning to read, comprehend, write, and speak correct English. Only one juror is not certain, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the young man is guilty. With the exception of a few moments at the beginning and the end, the entire movie takes place in the room. All in all, I thought that while this movie was a great remake, it was not nearly as good as the original and could have been written more to influence the current times. The story begins after closing arguments have been presented, as the judge is instructing theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦They introduce themselves to each other, say goodbye, and go their separate ways. While watching this movie, I realized that it provokes thought on the fairness of using our peers to determine the verdict in jury trials. Insights are shown on how jurors will base their decisions on many factors including peer pressure, personal perceptions, knowledge, biases, experiences and motivations along with the given evidence. Can the defendant in a jury trial really receive a fair trial? Do we have a correct and fair method for determining justice? Through watching this movie, I learned about how one person can make a difference if only he/she steps up and takes command. All of the things that I have just mentioned made me realize that this movie has taught me many things about my assumptions and myself. Some other things that I began to realize while watching this movie was that masterpieces like 12 Angry Men dont need a remake. The remake of the classic 1957 film makes many good efforts, but falls short in many points. First of all, I think George C. Scott is excellent, and could stand serious comparison with Lee J. Cobb in the original. Many of the other actors are also very good. But some of the actors miss the mark on their characterizations. Olmos watchmaker is a confused mess. (Who is he? Where is he from? Answer: Introduction Role play involves communication between two individuals one being a client and the other a counsellor and mainly involves seeking advice, assistance or psychological counselling. This requires for the counsellor to approach a client and be capable of Rapport building where they build a connection with the affected individual. Its critical to build trust and show understanding so as to connect with the individuals feeling so as to secure their trust and offer assistance(Lendrum Tolan, 2002). In addition to building Rapport, Its critical to deliver accurate information and advice related to the situation to avoid misleading the individual and attracting blame at a later stage. Situations must be evaluated by offering support and genuine feedback. Confidentiality is another factor which must be maintained since in most situations the information is private thus role plays should maintain confidentiality. Role play is a skill which an individual must be prepared to handle at any time since the instances are seldom planned in advance and the first meeting is also the most important. This required for the counsellor to be prepared to assess the individuals using basic assessment framework. Most people seeking a role players intervention and assistance will fall under one of more of the following three categories namely family and environmental factors, parenting Capacity and child development needs. Each of these factors will then be broken down in to further subsections catering to individual needs which require be identifying and investigating during the counselling session or meeting. Its critical for the counsellor to understand, analysis, investigate and then advice regarding the overall situation(El-Shamy, 2005). Its important to follow each of the steps in the same sequence so as to retain the individuals focus and trust thus helping them open up more regarding the situation and help you secure more data to work with. Basic assessment steps include: Greeting and establishing focused attention and contact The first step linked to being a good role-player involved greeting the individuals and dedicating your time towards them. In any situation, they would have informed you they need to meet you regarding something important making it important you offer warm and cordial greetings after which you can interact regarding basic data today experienced and new developments occurring around you. This is important as it builds the foundation of trust, interest, and dedication between the role player and individual thus helping calm the situation(Brantley, 2007). This step can last between 5 to 10 minutes and should be dedicated towards common talk as this helps reduce the anxiety. The individual may be experiencing anxiety and holding a short discussion helps them reduce stress and communicate in a clearer and better manner. It should not be stretched extensively as this can lead to distracting the meeting purpose. Once the individuals are comfortable and more relaxed the session should begin without further delay. This can either be started by the individual themselves or by the counsellor or role player who can request the individual to begin explaining their issue. Its important to review and analyse the individuals mood to help determine or anticipate the information thus allowing the role player also adopt a suitable attitude(Horwath Morrison, 2005). This Rapport building is critical towards winning the individuals confidence thus allowing them to open up the concern and help you secure a clear picture regarding the issues. Constant interaction and connecting also helps connecting the role player and individual helping them to retain open communication and psychological link. Make sure you never disrupt the individual until they complete explaining the entire situation or plan. Dont make notes since this is not a professional consultation but simply remain attentive to understand the situ ation. Once the individual has spoken out their concern and inform you regarding the problem you should take minute to think over the situation and respond with some important questions related to the situation(Suffield, 2012). It is critical to choose your questions carefully while ensuring affections and support are being expressed in the questions. Dont interrogate the individuals but ask subtle question the help reveal additional informations which may have not been discussed by the individual. These questions also helps identify if other people are involved in the situation and whether they know regarding this issue or concern. Do not show any favour towards any side as you are not there to judge but offer genuine advice related to the overall situation. The role player counsellor must be capable or analysing the situation and being able to paraphrase rephrasing their experience and knowledge while communicating with the individual. This is critical as it allows them to build trust with the individual by demonstrating they have understood the situation and how it affects the individual. Its important to link the individuals current situation to a previous or other situation but not reveal names or highlight the examples. Even when the role lay needs to use an example they should use one of a popular celebrity which is commonly known to the public. This helps build the connection and does not breach the used example persons privacy this demonstrating your commitment towards maintaining confidentiality(Downs, 2008). Never use examples of people known by both parties as this is likely to attract negative vibes from the individual who may connect you to using his or her example on future individuals approaching the role play for advice o r to resolve a problem. No names should be used as examples but situation can be paraphrased to help deliver understanding and a solution that may have been used in the past. Family conflict, conflict of interest and teenage hood are the main reasons people seek role players thus the role player must dedicate some time to research in to the different situation and develop their approach of handling the situation. Reflection of clients feelings dont judge It is important to also maintain contact and trust with the individual after they have discussed their problem to avoid losing their trust. No matter how serious the concern one must be able to reflect and understand the clients feelings and interpreted the feeling before passing on their advice. This does not mean role player should give misleading guidance or advice but rather must reflect their opinion related to the situation while still offering support(Bourne, 2016). Use as many examples as possible to make the client understand the consequences which may follow the decision thus helping them understand the overall situation clearly before making a final decision. Clearly mention your support or non-support, and offer advice on copping with the situation but dont over emphasize on implementing your approach or views, let the client make the final decision. In a situation where you support the decision, you must again expand on benefits linked to the situation but also make sure to highlight there is a major possibility of drawbacks. This bust is clearly stated to inform the individuals that every coin has two sides and simply focusing on the benefits is ill-advised. Support should be delivered but at the same time, its important to also point out some areas which may require additional investigation. This should be done by the individual as it allows them to secure hands-on experience thus helping build their knowledge and understanding regarding the situation. The role player can also assist in some situations but limit the majority of respondents to the individuals who would need to handle the situation independently at a later stage(Thomas Rothman, 2013). Support must continue delivering despite the decision being taken since it helps retain the ideals trust and allows helps them understand there is someone willing to offer advice and assistance to resolve a problem or make the right choice. Summarisation (beginning, throughout, and at the end) The role play must be able to manage the beginning and ending of the meeting in a very positive manner. Clients will in most situations have begun the meeting in a stressful state but you helped them calm down and during the meeting the tense mood may return again thus you need to ensure the client is calm and peaceful before you close the meeting and part ways(Yardley-Matwiejczuk, 1997). Its important they understand you will be available to deliver support when required thus encouraging them to return if required. The role play must not make any assumptions linked to the situation since each one is unique and have its own characteristics. This makes it important to probe the case as much as possible before to reveal the widest understanding. In situation requiring follow ups the role play can call the client for future meeting to clarify on certain points to help build a clearer picture of the situation so as to develop a better solution. Data from a case must be carefully documented to help reveal triggers points and factors which may be triggering the situation. Its also important for to use this information to perform further investigations and research to locate suitable solution to the problem. The first meeting its the most important since the role play will have to build their relationship and trust with the client after which future meetings can focus on other areas which may require improvement. An immediate review and interpretation of the situation needs to be delivered before terminating the meeting to prevent the client making a wrong decision. Consequences linked to the situation must also be delivered to help create a clear picture of the effects thus helping deter the client from making a wrong choice. Information Giving All advice given to the client must be linked to previous examples of similar situation and their solutions without revealing the people that experienced them. Its important to maintain a strong command over this stage as it demonstrates an individuals command over the subject and helps the client determine if they are the most suitable person for the job. the roles plays advice and guidance should involve points and approaches the individuals does not already know or has not used thus demonstrating the roles plays value to the clients wellbeing and benefit(Veach, LeRoy, Bartels, 2006). Before terminating the interview and meeting it is critical to ensure the client is a calm and relaxed state. Clients should be calmed and relaxed throughout the meeting to help deliver comfort and build confidence in the role play(Thompson, 2015). Situation which attract sever stress and anxiety should be forwarded to legal and medical authorities to manage so as to prevent harm to the client. The role play must act as a counsel who helps calm and advice the client on the best and easiest way out but in situation involving violence and threat to ones life legal action can be taken to safe guard the client. Conclusion Once classified as a role player you must be prepared to mentor and support the individuals who approach you by listening and offering apathy after which you can offer your views and advice regarding the situation. The situation simply does end at the meeting and should be continued even after the meeting and a last a lifetime among certain Individuals who build in-depth trust in their role player and mentors.
